Thomas Rogers Society publishes article

Medal by the Thomas Rogers Society

In their Fall 2018 newsletter, the Thomas Rogers Society (TRS) published an article written by Murray Johnston, author of The Watford Knight's Fee.

The TRS is an organization based in the USA celebrating the descendants of Thomas Rogers, a passenger of the vessel Mayflower, which arrived in Plymouth in 1620. The Mayflower brought the first settlers from Europe to America.

Thomas Rogers was born in Watford, Northamptonshire. His father, William Rogers, was a tenant farmer on one of the Watford Manors in Elizabethan England. The Manors of Watford are explored in the book, The Watford Knight's Fee, from the time of the Conquest of 1066 for the next 600 years.

The article in the TRS newsletter is in two parts. The first part concerns the parents of Thomas and his wife Alice in Watford, similar to the post on this blog, dated March 20, 2018. The second part explores William Rogers, younger brother of Thomas Rogers, and his descendants who remained on the family farm in Watford, called "Rogers Land", for well over a century.
